In search of hills - WA

In search of hills - WA

A journey on 2 wheels discovering any form of gradient on the world's flattest continent.

I love riding my bike. And I especially love riding it up hills. The longer, steeper, tougher the better! I love it when passers by shout out in disbelief "You cant ride your bike up there!" I love it when cars pull along side, wind down their windows and cheer me on whilst tackling the slopes. I love searching out new gradients to conquer. And I especially love beating Chris to the top!

So let me set the scene. Chris and I decided to move 14000km from our home in Lancashire to Western Australia. We packed up all our worldly possessions, which consists of 5 bikes and 3 suitcases of bike related kit, and started our new life in Perth.

So when I read that Australia is the flattest, driest continent on the planet, I thought "Oh feck!"

So here is our journal of the best hill climbs in the Perth region. We will be using our unique grading system to rate the difficulty of the best hills we can find.

Each hill will be given a grade from 1 to Oh feck! Where 1 is barely a speed bump, and Oh feck! is about all you can manage to say at the top of these beasts!

Now I feel that anything less than a 5 should not really be counted as a hill, however as Chris righty points out, we can't be too fussy in the world's flattest continent.

So if you fancy pointing your wheels up, check out our blog. Or if you know of any climbs we've missed..let us know!

See you at the top!
